Today we’re excited to announce a new BookBub feature for authors. Any author can now claim and update their own BookBub Author Profile.
Every day BookBub connects authors with millions of readers via our daily Featured Deals email. We know price promotions are an effective way for authors to reach new fans — but we want to give our partners more tools to showcase all of their books to our members. Author Profiles now provide that opportunity.
What’s a BookBub Author Profile?
Right now Author Profiles are simple — just a bio, a picture, and a list of books written by the author and available in the U.S. Here are some examples: Bella Andre, Hugh Howey, and J.K. Rowling. Any author, self- or traditionally published, can now create a profile like these for free (even if they have never run a BookBub Featured Deal).
Why create a profile on BookBub?
We recently launched some improvements to our site for readers in the U.S., including the ability to search for and bookmark books. These books will link to the author’s profile, allowing readers to learn about other books by the author. In the future, we expect to launch additional discovery tools for readers that give Author Profiles even more visibility, and provide enhancements to the profiles to give authors more promotional capabilities.
To maximize discoverability on BookBub, authors should claim their Author Profiles and ensure all their books available in the U.S. appear correctly. We’re working hard to include as many books as possible on BookBub, but by claiming an Author Profile and alerting us to any missing books, authors will help us ensure our data is as accurate and useful for readers as possible.
