With the holiday season in full swing, it may come as no surprise that BookBub subscribers fall hard for covers featuring Christmas trees, snow-covered cabins, and other wintry themes. So in honor of the first snow of the year here in Boston, we’ve rounded up eight examples of seasonal covers that have performed particularly well with BookBub readers:
1. Snowflakes and Coffee Cakes by Joanne DeMaio
From the snow-draped winter landscape to the cozy-looking homes in the background, this cover perfectly captures the mood of the season. And if you look closely, you’ll find two Christmas trees adding to the ambiance.
2. Wishin’ and Hopin’ by Wally Lamb
Nothing says Christmas like an ornament on the tree — especially when it’s as traditional and classic as the one on this cover, which looks like it belongs in a scene from Holiday Inn or Miracle on 34th Street.
3. The Charm Bracelet by Melissa Hill
“It’s sparkly! And it looks like a present! And charms are nostalgic!” An anonymous BookBub employee rightly identified some of the qualities that contribute to this eye-catching and festive book cover.
4. Claus by Tony Bertauski
Santa Claus looks downright fierce here, demonstrating how the holiday cover theme can work for genres beyond Romance and Women’s Fiction (this one is SciFi).
5. Cookie Craft Christmas by Valerie Peterson & Janice Fryer
Not only do these delicious-looking cookies remind us of a warm, cozy kitchen on a cold winter’s day, but they also make us feel like this guy. Plus, we bet Santa would be just as excited about them as our subscribers were.
6. The Christmas Dog by Melody Carlson
Adding a ridiculously cute dog to a Christmas window scene? Perfect BookBub double whammy.
7. Kissing Under the Mistletoe by Marina Adair
For many, Christmas is synonymous with love, but even the most cynical among us would be hard pressed not to agree that this snowy, romantic scene makes for a truly “aww”-inducing cover.
8. Last Chance Christmas by Hope Ramsay
Any cover that makes you want to curl up with a hot chocolate and read by the fire all day is a winner in BookBubbers’ eyes, and this image of a small town draped in Christmas lights couldn’t get much more heartwarming.
