Today we’re excited to announce three new ways we’re helping BookBub Authors — authors who have claimed and completed their BookBub Author Profile — build their audience:
- Sign-up Suggestions – When new readers sign up for BookBub, they now see suggested authors to follow.
- Email Suggestions – BookBub now sends emails to readers suggesting specific authors to follow.
- Book Page Follow Buttons – The BookBub.com pages for books written by BookBub Authors now include the author’s headshot and bio with a follow button.
These changes will help BookBub Authors attract more followers. Since authors’ followers get alerts about their new releases and Featured Deals, authors with more followers will reach more readers.
How We Pick Authors to Suggest
BookBub suggests authors that we believe, based on the data we have available, our readers will be most excited about.
Authors, there are two things you can do to improve your chances of being suggested (publishers, agents, and publicists, we suggest passing this advice along to your authors):
1. Claim and Complete Your Profile
If you have not claimed your BookBub Author Profile (and completed it with a bio and picture), you will usually get less exposure on BookBub.com. For example, you will be less likely to be suggested via an email or at sign-up, and you will not have a follow button on your book pages. Claim your profile here.
2. Verify Your Book Data
Your Author Profile should display all of your books, and the data should be error-free. If a book is missing, you can add it on the “Manage Your Author Profile” page in your BookBub Dashboard. If there is a data problem, you can request a fix within your Dashboard.
We’re very excited about these new ways for authors to reach readers. They are free and open to any author who signs up. We hope they can help more authors reach passionate, loyal readers.
